How much does Partners Tech software cost?
Our one‑time license fee to join is $500
What is the preparer split?
First year: You keep 80% of your preparation fees; Partners Tech takes 20%. Returning preparers (Second year and beyond): You keep 100% of your preparation fees. Performance bonus: If you prepare over 50 bank products in your first year, you also keep 100% of your prep fees that year.
Do I need an EIN to get started?
Nope. no EIN required.
Do I need a PTIN number?
Yes. You’ll need a PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) registered with the IRS before using the software to e‑file returns.
Do I need an EFIN?
No EFIN required to get started. If you want one, we’ll help you set it up for free.
Can I bring on other preparers under my account?
Yes! You’re free to add additional preparers whenever you need. They will need a PTIN
How do preparers get paid?
All payouts are made via direct deposit for fast, secure payments.
What are the software fees?
Our total software fee is $125, which includes the bank product fee. Note: We also offer an optional service bureau fee(55) if you need extra processing support.
